Review of Sebago Men's Docksides Boat Shoe - FREE SHIP AND FREE RETURNS
Hi !!! This is Oversesa Pep. I'm a long time fan of Sebago shoe, one of the many reasons is their consistent sizing, comfort and quality. I wore Sebago Docksides Boat shoe for 4 years. This shoe look durable and very stylish, and I love the dark brown color of the leather with the contrast white stitching and sole, but you can chose another color. Very attractive shoe.
This some customers reviews:
The man name Chris review:
My first pair of boat shoes were Sebago Docksides in Sand Shag sometime way back in the 80s. I wore them for many years until they were worn out. Unfortunately I could not find replacements in the local stores, so I have had many other brands and styles of boat shoes in between, including Levi's and Sperry. None of the others lived up to my original Docksides.
Now with online shopping I can get Docksides again in Sand Suede. (Pretty much the same as the old Sand Shag.) No extra seams that serve no purpose, no silly two tone colors, no cheap gummy eraser looking soles, no man made materials in the uppers to make your feet sweat, just fine quality throughout. If you've tried some other brands of boat shoes and weren't happy with them, I highly recommend you try the Docksides.
Another customer, his name's Timothy D. Hotze review:
I'm a habitual wearer of boat shoes during the warmer months. I've been a fan of Timberland's offerings for years, because they last and the leather is super soft. Friends swear by Sebagos, though, so I thought I'd give them a try.So, buddy, quit researching and buy this super comfortable shoe now!!! Believe me, Sebago Docksides Shoe is one of reasons you'll very grateful to me.
The shoes fit true-to-size, and the color is spot on. If you're getting a pair because you need a certain color, you won't be disappointed.
HOWEVER, unlike Timberland's supple leather, the leather here has an almost plastic feel to it. This is especially apparent on the tongue, which is just a one-ply piece of leather; whereas on other shoes, it's actually 'doubled over' (meaning the side facing your foot gets to touch the softer leather.
Having said that, the price on these was right, and they don't feel uncomfortable. I'll update when I find out how the leather 'wears' as the season goes on. If the leather scratches easily and doesn't survive well I'd say it's worth it upgrading to a more expensive shoe.
